Actually the 3DS charger which is the same one used by every DS family system since the DSi will not work with the Wii U GamePad. The head on the Wii U gamepad charger is to big to fit in the Nintendo 3ds so No It. For Wii U on the Wii U a GameFAQs message board topic titled Does the DSi3DS charger work with the GamePad. Making them the same plug and then mismatching the power outputs could damage the devices.
